Mrs. Irene Parks Anderson, 88, of Aiken, died Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at her residence. Funeral services will be private and under the direction of GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, Aiken. A daughter of the late, renowned boat builder Bronza Parks and Katie Lewis Parks, she was born in Wingate, MD Eastern Shore and had lived in Terre Haute, IN before moving to Aiken in 1952. She was a retired second grade teacher and had taught at Aiken Elementary School and Eustis Park Elementary School. She is survived by her husband of almost sixty eight years, Leonard G. Anderson, Jr., Aiken; a daughter, Judith A. Wheaton, Picayune, MS and three sisters, Mary Harding, Glen Burnie, MD, Lucille Sterling, Merrit Island, FL and Joyce Parks Wiley, Milford, DE.
