I was shocked and saddened to read about Dixie's passing in our LoudVoice magazine. When I saw her in Ottawa at the MacLeod Gathering, she seemed so vibrant. I had hoped she was winning her battle. From the first time I met her, I found Dixie to be such a kind, caring, approachable and helpful genealogist. I will miss her guidance. My prayers are with her family, in their loss.

May God comfort you, Gordon, and the members of Dixie's family as your mourn her loss and celebrate her life. She gave so much to so many. She was a strong leader and a gracious and loving friend. She genuinely cared about others and let them know it. She did so much for Scottish heritage, as well as her church, and will be missed by many.

I am so sorry for your loss. My brother and sister, Dennis Blalock and Jenny Blalock are friends of David, John and Rhonda. Dennis has been a friend of John's since our family moved to Irmo. He felt like Mrs. Lewis was another Mother for him. Dennis and John have been almost inseperable for so many years. John was a pallbearer at our Mother's funeral in 1998. Although, I personally did not know Mrs. Lewis, I knew her through her children and I know she had a big heart. She will surely be missed by many people. I know she is in a better place and now she can find peace and rest without pain. My sincere condolences to all of her family.
