There are no roses on a sailor\'s grave
No lillies on an ocean wave
The only tribute is the seagull\'s sweeps
And the teardrops that a sweetheart weeps.

My fondest memories was when he told me how proud he was of me. Always called me tootes. His teaching me all the things he knew about the different trades. When he went into the hospital for the first time before knowing about the cancer, he called me and told me how proud he was of the accomplishment I did in building a 16 x 20 building addition to my home with a friend. We had a lot of ups and downs and I tried to do the best I could. I love you Dad, and will miss you.
Your Loving Daughter

To those Submariners gone on Eternal Patrol.
There is a port of no return, where ships
May ride at anchor for a little space
And then, some starless night the cable slips,
Leaving an eddy at the mooring place...
Gulls, veer no longer. Sailor, rest your oar.
No tangled wreckage will be washed ashore.

Glenn and I served together briefly aboard the USS Sea Owl in 1961/62. Glenn was the Assistant Engineer and he discussed the nuclear power program with me one night when we shared the duty. Thanks to Glenn, I signed up for Nuclear Power school and that single action changed my whole life for the better.
During the past couple of years, Glenn and I shared many memories through the wonders of e mail.
He was a geat shipmate. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.
