Dear Christine and family, Know that we are saddened by Jim's passing. We will always have a lot of good memories of hanging with both of you guy's at the Flow Blue club functions and sharing your home and gracious hospitality. For those friends who didn't know, Jim served 2 termsor more? as president of the FBICC Flow Blue International Collectors Cluband was one of the best in it's 18yr. history. Jim was so sincere, friendly, and honest, his calling could have been a clergyman instead of a lawyer. He will be missed by a lot of club members including Sara and I. Sam and Sara Sampson

Christine and family,
Naomi and I send our condolences to you and your family. I enjoyed my years working with Jim in Chicago. He was one of the smartest and most amusing lawyers I ever worked with. He was also one of the best writers. Jim always had time for me to discuss work matters or the current state of affairs in South Bend. Again, our condolences.

Christine, you know how much I enjoyed your's and Jim's company at Waffle House. I feel very blessed to have shared time with you both. I know in all the world you couldn't have found a more devoted husband. I remember when Jim wasn't feeling well, he would still drop you off at the front of the Waffle House so you wouldn't have to walk.
Through all the pain Jim went through, he still kept his sweet personality. I never heard a cross word from him. The Lord never gives you more burdens than you can carry. When the load becomes too heavy, the Lord takes you home. I know Jim is singing with the angels now. We will see him again some day where there will be no more sickness. I love you both. Thanks for all the ways you have touched my heart. I feel blessed to have known both of you. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your lives.
Christine, you are in my prayers and always in my heart. Call me anytime if you need anything or just want to talk.
Love you always,
Leah Alsept

My deepest condolences to Christine and the rest of Jim's family. Jim was an early mentor to me. His wisdom, intelligence, and friendship will be dearly missed. When Jim retired, I was honored to be able to use the desk he used for so many years. I write these words on that very desk now, thinking of him, as I often do when I sit down behind it.

Christine and Family,
Joan and I send our sincere condolences at this time of grief.
Although Jim and I were classmates at Loyola Academy and Notre Dame and he later was Godfather for our youngest child, we hadn't seen each other in many years as our lives followed divergent paths. Yet, he remains fresh in our memories, warm in our hearts, and forever in our prayers.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. Jim, we miss you!

Dear Christine,
I was so sad to learn of Jim's passing. We were good friends and classmates at Loyola Academy, class of '56, and I have many fond memories of our times there. The class of '56 was a very special group of young men, some of whom have passed on and others that are still enjoying our time here.
Knowing Jim, I am certain that he lived a very full and joyful life with you and the children and his extended family, which included our fellowship. Coincidently, I owned the Willcox Inn for a number of years, and have fond memories of Aiken, going to the Masters and participating in the social life in Aiken. My sincerest condolences to you and the family.

Dear Christine and Family,
I was not with him often, but I will miss your Jim. He was such a great example of someone who faced an adversity and fought for precious life. I never saw him bemoan his lot, but faced each day with courage and a conviction that if anyone could beat cancer, it was him. Somehow I know that your life together made him fight that much harder.
God bless and keep you and yours.

I had the pleasure of working with Jim for 3 years at Hull, Towill. He was always one to offer a good joke, encouraging word or pat on the back. He was truly a wonderful person and mentor. I am sadded that he and Christine won't have more years together as it was evident of their love for each other. My prayers go out to her and his children.
God Bless,

I was so blessed to know Jim and to work with him for 3 years. Jim's sense of humor was a saving grace for me on a daily basis. The wonderful stories he shared with me about his children, wife, mother and of course his kitties, was filled with love which was so endearing and sweet. It is a comfort to know that I will have someone "up there" with whom I will speak with every day. God took our handsome flower for His garden, and the people who were lucky enough to know this wonderful man, will realize that this world has become less beautiful without him. I will miss my "buffer".

Our prayers are with you. I know that this holiday season has begun tragically with you with the loss of your brother and Jim. I hope that the support of your friends and family will give you the strength to move forward.

Jim will be greatly missed. What a joy it was to know him!! His smile always lit up our office, and his laughter was contagious. Despite the fact that he faced numerous valleys these past few years during his battle with cancer, he NEVER once complained about anything that he was going through, and he would always find something positive to say about any situation. He was an absolute pillar of courage and strength.
I feel extremely blessed to have known Jim. He was and will always be my hero and someone I am honored to call my friend.
