Funeral services for Mr. Arthur Claude Morris will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at 11 AM at Jackson Bible Church, Jackson, SC, seven years to the day of his wife?s death, with Pastor Allen Cantrell, Pastor Richard Martin and Pastor David Webster officiating. Interment will follow in Jackson Memorial Cemetery, Jackson, SC. Pallbearers for the service will be Wayne DeWeese, Ed Sparks, Andy Morris, Lynn Ashburn, Lyn Pate, and Walter Clemons. The family will receive friends Monday, July 8, 2002 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Jackson Bible Church c/o the Building Fund or the Mission Fund, P.O. Box 738, Jackson, SC 29831. Mr. Morris, 99, of Jackson, SC, husband of the late Bewris Marie Wilkinson Morris, went to be with the Lord Saturday, afternoon, July 6, 2002 at his residence following a period of declining health. Born in Brooksville, FL, he was a son of the late James Franklin Morris and the late Lulu Mae Jones Morris. At the age of thirteen, he had to take on the role as man of the family following a railroad accident that claimed the life of his father. A retired Rock Quarry Foreman, he put in forty-three years with Maule Industries. Mr. Morris, a devoted Christian, had lived in Jackson since 1975, where he was a charter member of Jackson Bible Church where he was very involved. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening. Surviving are daughters, Mildred Joan Butler, Cecil Jackson, SC, Gail M. Crocker, Charles Virginia Beach, VA; sisters, Edith Mears, Margaret Faircloth, both of Sebring, FL, and Frankie Richie, Hollywood, FL; grandchildren, Sandra Butler Pierce Perry, Jackson, SC, Arthur Butler, and Robert Butler, all of Jackson, SC, Terrie Crocker Wood, Susan Crocker Tourault, Jeff, and Chuck Crocker, Lori, all of Virginia Beach, VA; and great-grandchildren, Cindy Pierce, Florence, SC, and Crystal Pierce, Jackson, SC, Brittney Leonard, Kristen Wood, Jacob Wood, Clay Tourault, Christopher Tourault, Blake Crocker, and Steven Crocker, all of Virginia Beach, VA.
