Obituary of MSgt. Francis Frank Cooper

AIKEN, SC- MSgt. Francis "Frank" Arthur Cooper, USMC, Retired, age 70, entered into rest Sunday, April 17, 2016 at his residence. Frank was born March 21, 1946 in Union, SC to the late Robert John Cooper and the late Lois Scot Cooper. He was proud to be a US Marine Master Sergeant E-8. He saw active duty during the Vietnam War. Frank additionally retired as an Environmental Well Driller at the Savannah River Site. He was a great chess player, enjoyed both country and blue grass music, working on old cars and mowers and loved to cruise, but his greatest joy was his family and helping people. He greeted everyone with an enthusiastic "Good Morning! Good Morning! Good Morning! " regardless of the time of day. He touched many lives and was loved by so many more than he ever knew. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Jean Coleman and a brother, Henry Cooper. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Pat Cooper; two daughters, Dawn M. Weber (Scott), Charleston, SC and Tammy Cooper, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Jessica, Colby, and Peyton Weber; a sister, Margaret Ann Cooper; and a brother, Harold Cooper. Friends may call this Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at George Funeral Home's historic downtown chapel. At 8:00 PM, Pastor Robbie Coleman will speak and military honors will be accorded. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210 or the Aiken SPCA, 199 Willow Run Rd., Aiken, SC 29801.
