Funeral Services for Mr. Lacey Boatwright will be held at 3pm Monday, March 24, 2008 at Aiken's First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Fred Andrea officiating. Interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Gardens. Visitation will at the church on Monday from 1pm until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Aiken's First Baptist Church, 120 Chesterfield St. NE, Aiken, SC 29801, George Funeral Home and Cremation Center , 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken, SC is assisting the family.
Mr. Boatwright, 83, of Aiken, died Friday, March 21, 2008 at his residence.
Born and raised in the Aiken area, he was the son of the late Eddie Jerome and Estelle Fox Boatwright. Mr. Boatwright attended school at China Springs. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army during WWII. He was a beloved member of Aiken's First Baptist Church . Mr. Boatwright was well known for his love of fishing and was the head of numerous fishing clubs. He was the owner/ operator of the B&B Glass Company for over thirty years.
In addition to his parents Mr. Boatwright was predeceased by his wife Lois Asalee Plunkett Boatwright who died in 1998, and by two brothers Frontis Boatwright and Blanding Boatwright.
Mr. Boatwright is survived by three sons; Rodney Linda Boatwright, Ridge Springs, SC, Bruce Kathy Boatwright, Aiken, and Wallace Anne Boatwright, Aiken. He is also survived by seven grand children and twelve great grandchildren.
