Mr. John C. (Jack) Hagelston, 68, husband of Virginia (Ginny) Hagelston of Aiken SC, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at his home A son of the late Paul Joseph Hagelston and Mary MacMillan Hagelston, he was born in Danvers MA, but has been a long time Aiken resident. Mr. Hagelston retired as a Personnel Manager from the Walmart Corporation with over 17 years of service to the company. Jack was also a proud veteran with faithful service to his country. Jack was a big Gamecock football fan. He also enjoyed bowling and golf. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and especially enjoyed his cocker spaniels; Sonny, Sammy and Charlie. More precious to him than anything, was Ginny, his loving wife of 47 years. Jack also took great pride in his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include his daughter; Cathy Kirby (Patrick) of Evans GA, a son; James Marc Hagelston (Kristin) of Augusta GA, a daughter-in-law; Lisa Hagelston, of Harrisburg PA, a sister; Anne Hagelston of Aiken SC, and a brother; Jim Hagelston (Sheron) of Deep Gap NC. Mr. Hagelston is also survived by his 10 grandchildren; Layla Adams (Chris) of Iuka MS, Erin Wiley (Travis) of Grovetown GA, Eric Vivian, of Augusta GA, David Hagelston of Augusta GA, Alec Hagelston, of Harrisburg PA, Kelly Hagelston, of Augusta GA, Zack Hagelston, of Harrisburg PA, Sarah Hagelston of Harrisburg PA, Jack Kirby, of Evans GA, and Megyn Kirby also of Evans GA. He also leaves behind 2 great grandchildren; Peyton Wiley and Logan Wiley both of Grovetown GA, and one great grandchild on the way. He was predeceased by son; John Michael Hagelston, a daughter; Kelly Anne Hagelston, and a brother; Paul Joseph Hagelston Jr. A memorial service will be held at GEORGE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 211 Park Ave SW, Aiken SC 29801 on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 11 AM.
