Mom, today makes six months since that terrible day I lost you. It seems like a thousand days since you've been gone, and it seems like just yesterday. You are always on my mind, and I miss you every single day. You know how much I have always loved you, and I know you loved me more than anyone else in the world ever will. I still haven't figured out how to go on without you, but you left me with so many happy memories to sustain me. My proudest moments were whenever I made you proud. I had my failings, but you were forgiving. I always felt like everything would be okay, as long as you were around. You gave me roots, really great roots. I just wish you had given me wings. I guess that's up to me now, to go on and carry your love forward. You taught me how to be dependable, how to be loyal, how to laugh at the world, and how to love the people in my life who need me. I'm so grateful to have had a mother like you. We had a pretty good old time, didn't we? All of my love, Jon
