Frank J. Davis, Sr., 96, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away May 10, 2010 in Aiken, South Carolina at the Trinity Lutheran Home, Aiken. Funeral services will be private and are under the direction of George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Aiken. Memorial donations may be directed to Regency Hospice or Trinity Lutheran Home. The son of Frank and Anna Davis, he was born in Chicago March 28, 1914, attended Harrison High School and one year of College. He married Mildred Krueger on May 17, 1941 in Chicago, who preceded him in death after 64 years of marriage. He and his wife moved to Woodstock, Illinois in 1959. For many years he was an active member of the Rotary Club, and was known for his diligent work for the charter. As an avid reader, writer, and self educator, he surprised families and friends with his biography and newsletter articles. His enjoyments have been his families and friends. Travels always included visiting with family members. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his son; Frank J. Davis, Jr. and his wife, Christa, Aiken and a daughter; Margaret Babbit and her husband Dick, Missoula, MT. He is also survived by five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
