We were sorry to hear of your loss. Frank was a very special person. We loved getting his letters and his biography. It meant a great deal to us that he would share that with us. We also enjoyed his letters to the editor about political events. Our daughter, Catherine, used some of his insights and experiences in her classroom. Frank will be dearly missed.
Love, Earl & Beth Becker

Frank,
It saddened me to find out Frank had passed away. Although we are family my great grandmother and your grandmother were sisters—I am the granddaughter of Elmer J. Vernald Sr, I really didn't get to know your father until 2003 when I was researching our family genealogy and visited him and your mom in Woodstock. Of course, I recognized your Dad immediately from all those gatherings my grandfather had when I was a kid, but it was so nice to sit down and talk to him about family my grandfather has been gone since 1984. Frank was a wonderful man with great stories and I always looked forward to his letters and cards. I will miss him a lot. My deepest condolences to you and all the family.
Sincerely,
Tamara Kennedy

Dear Frank and Christa,
My brother and I are grateful that you sent us the memorial obituary of your dear father. Frank had always been part of our lives and was a treasured source of family history. I've enjoyed decades of correspondence and visits with him and Mildred, and I am saddened to lose my last first cousin on the Davis side. We will treasure his memory and trust you are finding comfort in your own memories of this remarkable and caring man!

Frank was here for 96 years for a reason and God bless. He was a frequent patron of our restaurant The Woodstock Inn for many years. When my mother passed two years ago he surprised myself and my sisters by attending the funeral. My prayers are with Frank and his family.

I met Frank as a Rotarian in Woodstock. As a charter member of our club, he was to be revered. But what was even more important was that when he spoke it meant something. He was thoughtful, intelligent, loyal and caring and gave so much to our community. It was a privilege to know and learn from him. Please accept my sincere sympathy.
