Funeral services for Mrs. Karel L. Kinney Whyte will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at 2:00pm at St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church, 1630 Silver Bluff Rd. Aiken with Rev. Scott Nead officiating. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday, September 21, 2004 from 6-8pm. Memorial donations, in her memory, may be directed to the Salvation Army, 322 Gayle Ave. NW Aiken, SC 29801. Arrangements are by George Funeral Homes Historic Downtown Chapel 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken. Mrs. Whyte, 57, of Aiken, died Saturday, September 11, 2004 at Memorial Hospital in Savannah, GA. A daughter of the late Robert & Marletta Freelove Kinney, she was born in Ithaca, NY and had lived in Aiken since 1985. She was the assistant manager of the UPS Store, located in the Publix Shopping Center, Aiken, where she had worked for 3 years. She was a member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church. Her husband, Master Sgt. James Whyte, III, USAF ret, died in 2001. She is survived by her son, Dr. James Whyte, IV, Quitman, GA, a daughter; Katherine Whyte, Savannah, GA, a brother; Bradley Kinney, Springfield, MO, two sisters; Karen Cole, Roanoke, VA and Kris Beemiller, Benton, KS and two grandchildren
