AIKEN, SC - Jacqueline Lou Walker, age 81, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2016.
Jacqueline was born February 16, 1935 in Newark, Ohio to the late Elbert and Imogene Loughman. Jackie was a naval military wife for 24 years and lived in numerous duty stations throughout the country and overseas including San Diego, Washington DC and Stockholm, Sweden. She worked as a legal secretary for 19 years in Washington DC and was a resident of Alexandra, VA prior to moving to Aiken, SC thirteen years ago. Jacqueline was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church and will be remembered for the love she shared for her husband, children, and grandchildren. Her passions were traveling, reading and knitting.
Jacqueline is survived by her husband of 60 years, William Walker; two daughters, Lori Walker Engle (Mark), Park Ridge, IL and Jennifer Walker Getzewich (Dan), John's Creek, GA; a son, David Walker (Molly), Northbrook, IL; eight grandchildren, Alyssa Giannini, William Engle, Peter Engle, Christopher Getzewich, Diana Getzewich, Elizabeth Getzewich, David Walker, and Max Walker; and a sister, Sally Weisent (Jack).
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August, 19, 2016 at St. John's United Methodist Church. The Reverend Dr. Tim McClendon and Rev. Nancy Reed will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service in Ward Hall. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
