Betty Jean Barefoot, 66, of Aiken, passed away on October 5, 2017 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Batesburg, she was a daughter of the late Henry Woodrow and Lou Annie Waters Wingard. Mrs. Barefoot was a member of Victory Baptist Church and loved to go fishing and camping. She was preceded in death by a brother, George Lewis Wingard. A family gathering will be held from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Monday, October 9, 2017, at the Monetta Community Center, 290 Academy Street, Monetta, S.C., 29105. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wallace Barefoot, 29 Old Country Lane, Aiken, S.C., 29801. Survivors include her loving husband of 47 years, Wallace "Dickie" Barefoot of Aiken; a son, Thomas Lee Barefoot of Aiken, sisters, Barbara Johnson (Ray) of Aiken and Linda Auerhamer of Batesburg; brothers, Henry Wingard (Linda) of Aiken and Tony Wingard (Joann) of Windsor and three grandchildren, Olivia, Victoria and Brandon Barefoot.
