Memorial services for Richard Allen Payton, 72, of Columbia, Maryland, formerly of Aiken, will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Chapel of GEORGE FUNERAL HOME. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Payton, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2015. Born in Palatka, Florida, he was a son of Grady and Virgie Adkisson Payton. Mr. Payton was a retired computer technician and in his spare time he enjoyed riding horses and going to horse shows. Surviving are his sisters, Pamela Plunkett of Aiken and Becki Payton of Surfside Beach, SC; a brother, Bobby Payton of Aiken; nieces, Kim Fralick and Brandi Deas (Mark) all of Aiken; a nephew, Clay Plunkett of Aiken and 9 great-nieces and nephews.
