New Ellenton---Mr. Herbert Parrott, 73, husband of Pauline ?Polly? Parrott, died Friday, March 07, 2003 at University Hospital, Augusta, GA. Funeral Services will be held 2PM, Monday, March 10 at Corinth Baptist Church with Rev. Brancie Stephens officiating. Pallbearers will be Everett Manning, James Emert, Jim Henderson, Bill Brooks, Larry Brown, and Matt Henderson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Adult Men Sunday school Class at Corinth Baptist Church. Visitation will be held Sunday evening 7-9 at the Funeral Home.
Mr. Parrott was the son of the late James Oliver and Cassandra Parrott and a native of Sevier County, TN. He was predecease by his son, Larry Parrott, daughter, Vickie Ann Parrott, brothers Orton Parrott, Carl Parrott, and sisters, Geneva Henderson, Pauline Emert, and Hazel Brooks. He moved to New Ellenton in 1951 form Sevierville, TN. Mr. Parrott retired from SRS as a HP Inspector after 42 years, was a New Ellenton Volunteer Fireman for 20 years, Vice President at Helping Hands for 5 years, and a Pinkerton Guard at the Augusta National during the Masters and Heritage Classic. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Trustee, Youth Director, Youth Sunday school Teacher, and Choir Member. Among the things he did during his life, Farming was his true love.
Survivors include his wife Polly, daughters; Pamela and Rick Willard, Aiken, Deborah and Jay Winburn, Aiken, brother, Rex Parrott, Knoxville, TN, grandchildren; Richie Willard, Ryan Willard, and several nieces and nephews. He was the greatest husband, father, and grandfather in the world. He was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by his family
