Funeral services for Donna Lucas Gibbs, 73, will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Officiating will be Father Grant Wiseman and Father Joseph Whitehurst. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, Aiken. Pallbearers will be George Lewis, John Lewis, Tim Lewis, Andy Williams, Oscar Cardoso and Billy Molony, Jr., Honorary Pallbearers will be the Sunshine Garden Club, Town & Country Club and Billy Molony, Sr. Mrs. Gibbs, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2013. Born in Laurens, SC, she was a daughter of the late George Faye & Pauline Eidson Lucas. She was a lifetime area resident and a member of St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church. Mrs. Gibbs was a retired public school teacher with Aiken County Public Schools for 31 years, a charter member of the Sunshine Garden Club and a member of Town & Country Club. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was preceded in death by a sister, Olive Williams. Survivors include her devoted husband, Tommy Gibbs of Aiken; daughters, Lisa Gibbs Cornwell (Ed) of Aiken and Beth Gibbs Mayberry (Jeff) of Knoxville, TN; a son, Will Gibbs of Aiken and 4 grandchildren, Lucas Cornwell, Davis Cornwell, Wyles Cornwell and Mason Gibbs all of Aiken.
