A Memorial service for Mary Mainland Fabrick will take place on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 4pm at St. John's United Methodist Church, Aiken. Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens will be private for family only. Mrs. Fabrick, 88, of Aiken, died Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at her residence.
Born in Rockford, IL, and raised in Kiswaukee, IL, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Wood Mainland and Florence Hoisington Mainland. Before moving to Aiken in 1952, she had lived in Orange Park, FL.
A member of St. John's United Methodist Church, she taught Sunday school and volunteered at the church clothes closet for many years. She was also a volunteer at ACTS and logged many miles in her car driving cancer patients for their treatments. She was a long time member and officer of UMW, Circle 10 and the Church United Women.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Elmore Fabrick, who died in 2007.
She is survived by two sons; Dan M. Susan Fabrick, Aiken, SC and David J. Nancy Fabrick, San Jose, CA and three daughters; Marie Bainbridge, Hendersonville, TN, Elizabeth Brian Eberhard, Aiken, SC and Lucy J. Fabrick, Aiken. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine, great-grandchildren.
