A Mass of Christian Burial for David Edward Kaplan will be celebrated Monday, June 20, 2005 at 10 AM at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Aiken. Pallbearers will be: Alan Norman, Brian Norman, Charles Kaplan, Marsh McCall, Albert Warburton, Charles Rappold, and Ben Watkins. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Aiken. A Christian Wake Service will be held Sunday, June 19, 2005 at 6 PM at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken. The family will receive friends following the wake service until 8 PM.
David, 20, of Aiken, began his eternal walk with God on Monday afternoon, June 13, 2005.
Born in Knoxville, TN, a son of Michael Egan and Mary Rappold Kaplan, David was currently a sophomore at Clemson University, where he was a Palmetto Scholar. A resident of Aiken since 1986, David was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, a 2003 graduate of Aiken High School and an Eagle Scout. He had achieved a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and enjoyed riding motorcycles and playing the guitar and piano.
He is survived by his parents, Michael Egan Kaplan and Mary Rappold Kaplan, Aiken; sister, Allison Marie Kaplan, Aiken; brother, Charles Michael Kaplan, Anderson, SC; maternal grandmother, Mary Frances Pilkenton Rappold, Lilburn, GA; paternal grandmother, Ruby Bullard Kaplan, Sevierville, TN; aunts and uncles, Charles Joseph Rappold, Aiken, Edward Samuel Rappold, Jr., Molena, GA, Sara and Freddie Angeletti, Lawrenceville, GA, Paul and Karen Hammond, Dandridge, TN, and Jim and Kathy Stumpff, Kansas City, MO.
