What can I say? John was my supervisor, mentor and friend for so many years while working in NEPA. I have relocated to Rock Hill, SC and was unpacking and came across some memories of John during his "semi-retirement" from WSRC. I will miss him dearly, but will always cherish his memories. I learned so much from John. His laughter was like no other. :>803 327-9136

Sorry to hear about John. He worked with me for many years here at SRS toward the end of his career. I valued his opinion and strong work ethic. He always put in a full day's work. He was an excellent employee and I was sorry to see him retire. We traveled together making a few trips to other DOE sites to teach the NEPA course. He was always cheerful and very pleasant to be around. I really enjoyed the maple syrup he would bring back from the trips to Maine to visit family. I always enjoyed his stories about the early days and particularly the one where he and several co-workers were playing baseball at noon at TNX and wound up breaking a window glass. Bill Reinig was not amused and asked that they not play ball anymore. He always talked about his grandson and how much they enjoyed doing things togeter. Anyway, I am glad to have known him because of his character, pleasant personality, and the things he taught us all.
May the Lord be with you at this time and bless you with peace.

Miss Betty,
We will miss one of our "Superfans" as well as one of our "Supermans!" Mr. Murdock was great for our program and university and we appreciated his presence beside you at all the games.
The service was very nice and I am sure he was smiling down on us.
God Bless you and the family in this tough time.
Our team and my families thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Betty and family,
You have my deepest sympathy in your grief. John and I had many good chats as he stopped to visit when I was in the yard as he walked by, and I also enjoyed having him sit in on my history classes at USCA. I will miss those times and his friendly face. God bless you.

Mrs. Murdock, Jack and Martha -
I am so saddened by your loss. Mr. Murdock was a great, great fellow. Like Calvin Johnson, I was one of his baseball players...and I learned to be competitive but the example of his kindheartedness, his gentleness is what I remember. I will be praying for you.

John Murdock was my Little League baseball coach in Aiken over 40 years ago. My father and John were DuPonters together for many years.
Coach Murdock even knew me longer than he knew his own son since I was slightly older than Jack. In fact, when I was young baby, my mother and Betty used to walk me and their son Jack together in baby carriages.
And as young lads we were on the same baseball team together playing for his father. Some memories never leave us. Our team, RX Drugs only went 3-19 that year, losing our last 16 games in a rown, but Coach Murdock never got down on us. He was a true gentleman and the very essence of a Coach.
Thank you for sharing your life with the youth of Aiken, John Murdock.
God rest your soul Coach!
