Memorial services for Jean McElveen Abreo, 81, of Aiken, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017 at St. James Lutheran Church, in Graniteville under the care of GEORGE FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, 200 Laurel Street, Graniteville, SC 29829. Mrs. Abreo, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017. Born in Hebron, SC, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Jessie Smith McElveen. She was a retired Guidance Counselor with New Ellenton Middle School. She was a very active member of St. James Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crocheting afghans for the American Red Cross. Mrs. Abreo was also an Academic Coordinator for middle schools and high schools for many years. She was preceded in death by a sister, Elena McElveen and a brother, Wendell McElveen. Mrs. Abreo was loved by all who knew her. Surviving are her loving husband of 59 years, Ralph Abreo of Aiken; daughters, Sheri Lynn Abreo and Lori Abreo Fagan (Butch) all of N. Augusta; grandchildren, Wil and Blake Fagan, both of N. Augusta and many nieces and nephews.
