Jean Abreo was one of my first counseling collegues when I came to Aiken County and Jackson Middle School. As I was a new counselor, her assistance and advice was ways welcomed and appreciated. My first principal, Andy Reeves (may he also rest in peace) would tell me to call Jean Abreo at New Ellenton for the answers to my frequent questions! She was a mentor, helper, and friend for the many years since our respective middle schools opened in 1981. She will be missed by all.

The line in her obituary that said she was loved by all that knew her was the absolute truth. She lived her life in a way that made loving her very easy.

Mrs. Abreo was my Guidance Counselor 37 years ago. I often tell people about her. She made me feel special and important. I believed she had time for me, wanted to hear about my life, and cared for me. She was a special lady. I am certain there are thousands of former students who would express similar memories. Prayers for her family.

My daughter Laura and I happened upon Jean and Ralph at O'Charley's one night at dinner time and shared a meal with them. What pleasant conversation and Jean always making you feel so comfortable. I was an emcee for her with academic team and then I took over running the middle school part when she decided to give it up. I knew Jean almost my entire teaching career as I am retiring this year after 35 years at New Ellenton Middle STEAM Magnet School. Such treasures as she are few and far between. Jean genuinely cared about every person she knew. I will miss you my dear friend.

I was involved with Jean in Warm Up America sponsored by the Red Cross. She was always outgoing, and so interested in everyone. She was a delight. My daughter, Lynn Stewart, and I frequently saw Jean and Ralph at the IHOP eating breakfast. We enjoyed our conversations with them there. I will surely miss her.

Jean was my colleague and friend at New Ellenton Middle. She advised me as needed, gave me a great recipe for "Crabbies" and impressed upon me the importance of cleaning base boards every spring. Her friendliness, gift for conversation and dry wit will be missed.
