Funeral services for Ethel Inez McCall will take place on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 2pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Green, Adam Bodie, Haskell Goodwin, Sr., Richard Woodward, Tracy Price and Irvin Posey. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Clearwater Branch Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Clearwater Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-8pm. Memorial donations may be directed to the Golden Harvest Food Bank.
Mrs. McCall, 88, of Aiken, died Saturday, December 3, 2011 at her residence.
A lifelong resident of Aiken County, she was a daughter of the late Stephen Irvin Arthur and Margaret Couch Arthur. She was the oldest living member of Clearwater Branch Baptist Church and will be remembered as a woman who loved her church and her family.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Floyd Eugene McCall; two sons, Floyd A. McCall, Sr. and Irvin Edwin McCall; two brothers, Irvin Arthur and Hudson Arthur; a sister, Lilli Mae Agner, and a grandson, Floyd A. McCall, Jr.
She is survived by two sons, Ralph Lynn McCall, Aiken and Lee. M. McCall, Aiken; two daughters, Cathy Leroy Powell, Hepzibah, GA and Clara Charles Torquato, Aiken; and a sister, Gladys White, Aiken. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
