Mr. C.B. Sally, 92, husband of the late Trudy Salley, died on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, at Pepper Hill Nursing Center, Aiken. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004, at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel with the Rev. Jim Kirk officiating. Visitation will be held tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Todd Scott, Barry Scott, Mike Weaver, Jeff Wiley, Chris Scott and Carl Salley. Internment will be held at Oakview Cemetery, Salley. Because of his deep concern for hungry children, memorials may be made to the Golden Harvest Food Bank, 13 Enterprise Ave., Aiken, SC 29803. Born in Salley, he was the son of the late Henry Felder and Ruth Gantt Salley. He moved to Aiken in 1947 from Salley. He was a member of Highland Pines Baptist Church. He delivered monthly food baskets and meals for Meals on Wheels. He served with the Civilian Conservation Corps. during the 1930s and retired in 1977 from SCE&G after 45 years of service. Survivors include his sons, Ken Caroline Salley, Aiken and Henry Jean Salley, Leesville; daughters, Linda Archie Weaver, Aiken, Kay Marvin Stanley, Aiken, and Helen Bill Scott, Aiken; brother, Wilton Salley, North Charleston; sisters, Bevoley Schlenker, Charleston, Jeanette Salley, Arden, N.C., and Betty Pleasant, West Columbia; 11 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren.
