My sincere condolences to all in you in the loss of your Dad. He was a very unique man and I always admired his devotion to staying fit while seeing him out walking. I have been in and out of town and out of touch with local news so I just recently learned of this or that he had even been ill, otherwise would have certainly been there for the service. Hope all of you are doing well and again, wanted all of you to know you were in our thoughts. Best Regards, Arnold

So very sorry to hear of your dads passing.First time I knew about it was reading the Aiken paper tonight at supper . Had I known earlier I would have attended the vistation and funeral I saw Mr Salley several weeks ago as he was walking along Vaucluse Rd I blew the horn at him and he waved at me. I got to know your dad better in his later years and thought a lot of him Enjoyed talking about his garden and politics. Again, I would have been there for you had I only known earlier

I had the honor of knowing Mr. Salley through my aunt, Vivian Pennington Bradbury. They would weekly visit my father, Roy Pennington, and C. B. would walk all over the property the whole time they were there; he just never seemed to slow down. I enjoyed listening to them talk about the past, politics, and the status of their gardening ventures. C. B. always grew the best asparagus I have ever eaten.
May God bless the family in their time of loss; my prayers are with you.

Our deepest sympathy goes to your family. Mr. Salley was devoted Christian and good friend. We will miss him dearly at Highland Pines. I used to love hearing his stories about things that happened in his life. Mr. Salley was one of the hardest working men I have ever known, even in his elder years. Our church voted at our last business meeting to name our new playground after him.
The children of our church loved Mr. Salley as well as the adults.
Love in Christ,
Ken, Beth, Brianna and Brooke Meeler
