Aiken----Mrs. Helen Louise Newell, 78, died Monday, June 9, 2003 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. She was born August 21, 1924 in Arcade, NY to Earnest and Carrie Whiting. Mrs. Newell was a member of Mount Tabor United Methodist Church. Surviving are her sons, Dr. Gary Newell, Chesapeake, VA, Mr. Terry Newell, Nashville, TN, Mr. Kent Newell, Aiken, SC, daughter, Mrs. Karen Newell-Young, Pasadena, CA, brother, Mr. Don Whiting, Arcade, NY, Sister, Mrs. Doris Hayes, Winston-Salem, NC and seven grandchildren. A private Memorial Service will be held. The family request that memorials be made to Mount Tabor United Methodist Church, 3543 Robinhood, Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
