A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for John T. Greco at St. Michaels Catholic Church, North Andover, MA on Monday, December 12, 2005. Interment will follow at Ridgewood Cemetery, N. Andover. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8pm at George Funeral Homes Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken, SC. There will also be a visitation Sunday evening at Conte FH in North Andover. Memorial donations may be directed to ACTS, 340 Park Ave. SW Aiken, SC 29801. Mr. Greco, 82, of Williston, SC, died Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at Aiken Regional Medical Center. The son of the late Angelo and Paulina DiGiaimo Greco, he was born in Auburn, NY and had lived in Arlington, VA and Aiken, SC before moving to Williston in 2002. John was a graduate of Dartmouth College and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. He served in the United States Army as a combat engineer and spent two years in the South Pacific during World War II. After the war he went to work at the Pentagon as a management analyst for the USAF and worked there for 33 years, retiring in 1979. John was proud of being a Knight of Columbus. He was an Honorary Life Member of Msgr. George Lewis Smith Council #3684 and a former commander of Assembly #1074, both in Aiken. He was a member of the Williston Country Club and American Legion Post #75 in Williston where he was chairman of the Boys State Program. He had been a medicine courier volunteer at Aiken regional Medical Centers and had also volunteered at ACTS and Eden Gardens, Aiken. In addition to his parents, John is predeceased by his first wife, Victoria Van Coppenolle Greco who died in 1999. He is survived by his wife, Glenda L. Sutton Greco, Williston; three sisters, Madelina Calzetta, Connie Calzetta and Marie Greco, all of North Andover, MA. John is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
