Mr. Robert Allen Edmundson, 64, of Aiken died Tuesday August 2, 2011 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8pm at GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken. Graveside services will be on Friday August 5, 2011 at 11AM at Aiken Memorial Gardens with Pastor Mark Hudson officiating. A son of the late Robert Bay Edmundson and Muriel Jones Edmundson, he was born in Wilson, NC, where he lived until moving to Aiken in 1951. Robert served in the US Air Force and then began a thirty-five year career in operations at The Savannah River Site, retiring in March of this year. Robert was a huge NASCAR and Clemson Football fan and was loved by all who knew him. He was also a proud member of Aiken Masonic Lodge #156. He is survived by his wife, JoAnne Beall Edmundson, Aiken; sons Robert Allen Rebecca Edmundson II, Aiken and James Paul Edmundson, Augusta, GA; a daughter, Amanda Lauren Edmundson, Aiken; two brothers, Douglas Bay Jeannine Edmundson, Flowery Branch, GA and Donnie Ray Vicki Edmundson, Aiken and nieces and nephews, Mark Edmundson, Kathryn Edmundson, Angie Leidinger, Austin Edmundson and Anne Key.
