A Funeral Mass for Mrs. Rose Julia Ficcadenti Hennessey will be celebrated at 10am on Monday, November 17, 2008 at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, 391 South Broadway, Pennsville, NJ 08070. Interment will follow at the Salem County War Veterans Cemetery in Pilesgrove, NJ. The family will receive friends Sunday evening at the church from 6-8pm. Memorial donations may be directed to Queen of Apostles Church or St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. George Funeral Home & Cremation Center 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken, SC is assisting the family. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Jeffrey Kirby on Monday, November 24, 2008 at 3pm at ST. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Aiken.
Mrs. Hennessey, 85, of Aiken, SC, died Sunday, November 9, 2008, at Pepper Hill Nursing Center, Aiken. She was born in Penns Grove, NJ, in 1923, a daughter of the late Nazzareno and Angelina Ficcadenti. She was married to Michael F. Hennessey in 1947 in New Jersey, She was a secretary at the Petroleum Lab of Chambers Works, Dupont Co., in Deepwater, New Jersey for over 30 years. Mrs. Hennessey was a communicant of Queen of Apostles Catholic Church and a member of the Pennsville Historical Society. She had been active in Scouting with her sons, and participated, with her husband, in Pennsville Township government. She was also well known for her 19 years of co-editing with her husband, the "7th Seabees Battalion News Letter".
A long time resident of Pennsville, she moved to Aiken in 2004 to be near her son Brian and his family.
In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her husband, Michael F. Hennessey who died in 2001, her brother Dominic Ficcadenti, and two sisters, Ida Franceschi, and Santina Roncace.
Surviving are her two sons, Michael K., of Cary, NC, and Brian T., of Aiken, SC; five grandchildren; a brother, Vito Ficcadenti, of Pennsville, NJ; and two sisters, Gina Ficcadenti and Elsie Kute, both of Pennsville, NJ.
