Funeral services for Mr. James W. Taylor will be held Friday, December 19, 2003 at 2 PM at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC, with officiating Pastor Jay Harding. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens, Aiken, SC. Pallbearers will be Walter Moore, Todd Scott, Larry, Randy, Tracey, Mark , and Travis Jackson. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 18, 2003 from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Taylor, 68, of Aiken, SC, husband of Mrs. Linda Faye Freeman Taylor, died Tuesday, morning, December 16, 2003 at his residence. Born in Spartanburg, SC, a son of the late Alex and Patrie Pie Williams, he had been a resident of Thomasville, NC, prior to moving to Aiken, SC, over thirty six years ago. He was a former construction worker having retired from Universal Services. Mr. Taylor was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the C.S.R.A. Bassmasters. In addition to his wife of thirty-six years, Linda Faye Freeman Taylor, sons, James Lonnie Taylor, Thomasville, NC and Eugene W. Weeks, Aiken, SC; daughter, Wanda L. Grayson, Thomasville, NC; brother, Hobert Wayne Taylor, Thomasville, NC; sisters, Gloria Jean Starkey, Thomasville, NC and Edith Smith, Spartanburg, SC; and grandchildren, April Dawn Crawford, Amber Renee Grayson, Taylor O?Neil Grayson, and Ashley Nicole Taylor, survive The family has requested that memorials in memory of Mr. Taylor be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Drawer K., Aiken, SC 29802.
