A Requiem Mass for Mrs. Frances Walsh will be celebrated on Monday, December 1, 2012 at 10am at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, from 6-8pm at GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:30pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Walsh, 105, of Winter Haven, FL died Monday, November 26, 2012 at her residence. A daughter of the late Austin Biesty and Margaret Glynn Biesty, she was born in County Mayo, Ireland and came to the United States at age sixteen. She lived most of her life in Long Branch, NJ and then for several years in Summerville and Aiken, SC before moving to Florida just before she turned 100 years old. She was a hard working, good mother. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Wilford Walsh; a son, Frank Walsh; a grandson, Thomas Walsh; a great grandson, Logan Henry Godbee and a great, great, grandson, Ryan Leonard. She is survived by a son, Thomas Walsh, Dubuque, IA; four daughters, Mary Wolfe, Edison, NJ, Irene Auditore, Orlando, FL, Grace Mosco, Winter Springs, FL and Maureen Godbee, Aiken, SC. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 6 great, great grandchildren and several step grandchildren. Memorial donations may be directed to the St. Mary Help of Christians Church, PO Box 736, Aiken, SC 29802 to be designated for Masses to be said for her soul or to the church building fund.
