Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Donald Edward Haggerty will be celebrated at 1 PM Saturday, February 26, 2005 Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Visitation will be on Friday from 6-8 pm at George Funeral Homes Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken.
Mr. Haggerty, 81, of Aiken, SC, died Tuesday, morning, February 22, 2005 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
Born in Watertown, NY, he was a son of the late Warren Edward and Mildred Eva Brown Haggerty. A resident of Aiken, SC since 1951, Mr. Haggerty retired from E.I. DuPont in 1984 after thirty-two years of service as a Power Engineer. He was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church and was a very active member of the Knights of Columbus Monsignor George Lewis Smith Assembly #1074 Council # 3684. A World War II Veteran he proudly served in the United States Navy.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Bivian West Haggerty, sons, N. Kent Haggerty, Sherry Nashville, TN, Raymond Warren Haggerty, Charleston, SC, and Patrick Donald Haggerty, Leah Stuart, FL; grandchildren, Susan Wallick,Daniel Patricia, Katherine, Jennifer, and Erin Haggerty; and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Zachary, and Samuel Wallick and Kaelan and Shannon Eberle.
