Funeral service for Mrs. Margaret E. McNeil will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2008 in the chapel of George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Avenue, SW, Aiken, with The Reverend Garrett M. Clanton officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2999 Sunset Blvd., Suite 102, West Columbia, SC 29169, in memory of Mrs. McNeil. Mrs. Margaret McNeil, 88, former longtime Aiken resident, died Sunday, July 27, 2008 at Universal Healthcare in Ramseur, NC. Born September 22, 1919, she was a daughter of the late William G. Willis and the late Ethel Elen Hill Willis. Mrs. McNeil was a member of All Saints Anglican Church. She enjoyed camping, and was a member of a local area camping club. Mrs. McNeil left Aiken ten years ago to live with her daughter in North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. McNeil. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Michael Mahalak of Siler City, NC; grandsons, Michael R. Mahalak of Henderson, NV, and James R. Mahalak of Thomasville, NC, and four great-grandchildren.
