We always looked forward to Aunt Letha, Uncle Doyle, Brenda, and Glen coming to Orange, TX every summer for a visit. It was always fun. Then in summer of 1968 I went to Aiken for 2 months and Glen and I worked in the peach shed packing peaches. Aunt Letha was my mom for 2 months. My first time away from home for an extended period of time. She did have to deal with a real picky eater. But she managed to get me to eat pizza and green beans before we headed back to Texas. And she did have to help me thru one evening of homesickness. One of the best memories of my childhood.
