A graveside service for JD Carr, 90, of New Ellenton, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 28, 2012 in Aiken Memorial Gardens, under the care of GEORGE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER. Mr. Carr, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Aiken Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Elizabethton, TN, he was son of the late Jack and Harriet Sams Carr. Mr. Carr retired from the painting department of I.E. Dupont and was a member of the Local 1756 Painters Union and a member of Pine View Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hattie Mae Carr. Surviving are his sons, Calvin W. Carr and Steve Carr Debra both of New Ellenton; 7 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
