A funeral mass for Mrs. Geraldine R. "Jeri" Burkett will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 11am at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Aiken. Interment at Calvary Cemetery will be private for the family. Mrs. Burkett, 75, of Aiken, died Monday, February 22, 2010 at her residence. She was born in Detroit, MI to Raymond Kott and Frances Prevost Kott. Before moving to Aiken in 2000, she lived in Pinehurst, NC and Detroit MI. She was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, and was an active volunteer in the communities where she lived. Mrs. Burkett was predeceased by her husband, James F. Burkett, 2006. She is survived by seven children; Monica Malpeli, James Julie Burkett, Carol Mabeus, Anne Burkett, Gregory Burkett, Jocelyn Burkett, and Brian Diane Burkett; thirteen grandchildren and one great grandson. She enjoyed the love of a large, extended family, and is survived by her mother, Frances Korth, five of her seven sisters, and one brother.
