A memorial service for Mrs. Virginia ?Ginny? May Irwin will be held Saturday, October 8, 2005 at 4 PM at the First Presbyterian Church, Aiken, SC, with Rev. Dr. David B. Cozad and Rev. Martha M. Ebel officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church parlor. Mrs. Irwin, 82, of Aiken, SC, died Wednesday, night, October 5, 2005 at Eden Gardens, Aiken, SC. Born in Youngstown, OH, a daughter of the late John Samuel and Pauline Mitchell Nock, she was a homemaker. She had been a resident of Houston, TX, where she was active in the Girl Scouts, prior to coming to Aiken, SC, in June of 1984, where she became a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Irwin was an avid golfer and prior to her health declining, she played with the Woodside Womens Golf Group. She also enjoyed gardening. She is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, Edgar Charles Irwin, Jr., daughter, Virginia Christine Mankin, Steve Terre Haute, IN; son, Vernon Charles Irwin, Mary Jane Spring Mills, PA; grandchildren, John D. Irwin and Russell T. Williamson and a great-grandchild, Kai A. Irwin. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer?s Association, c/o the Council on Aging, P.O. Box 3156, Aiken, SC 29802.
