A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Mr. Michael Edward Pelkey on Saturday, May 21, 2005 at 12:00 at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Aiken. The family will receive friends at Smith Hall, adjacent the church, immediately after the mass.Memorial donations may be directed to the Society of St. Vincent dePaul, PO Box 438 Aiken, SC 29802. Mr. Pelkey, 39, of Aiken, died Tuesday evening at his residence. He was born in Lakewood, NJ and had lived in Hilton Head Island, then moved to Plum Island, MA and then back to Bluffton, SC before moving to Aiken seven years ago. Mr. Pelkey was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He owned his own pool maintenance business and was a volunteer at the Society of St. Vincent DePaul of St. Mary Help of Christians Church. He is survived by his wife, Michelle Widener Pelkey, Aiken, two sons; Michael James Pelkey, Aiken and Anthony Michael Pelkey, Belchertown, MA, his parents; James & Marie Mazur Pelkey, Aiken, four step-children; Victoria ?Renee? Thomas, Aiken, Andrea Thomas, Columbia, Paul Wright, Aiken, & Lauren Wright, Aiken, two brothers; James Paul Pelkey, Salisbury, MA and Robert Michael Pelkey, Bluffton, SC and two sisters; Karen Louise Kuzminski, Beachwood, NJ and Nancy Ann Pelkey, Guilford, CT.
