AA Funeral Liturgy for Mrs. Ann Ruth Allison will be celebrated on Monday, May 11, 2009 at 1pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave, SW, Aiken. Entombment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:30am until 1pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St, New York, NY, 10016.
Mrs. Allison, 71, of Aiken, died Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
Born in Lumberton, NC, she was the daughter of Ruth Evers Smith and the late Fred Smith. She lived in Princeton, NJ and Yardley, PA, before moving to Aiken in 1999. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pioneers of America. She gave tirelessly of herself to the Pioneers and was recognized as the "Pioneer Partner of the Year" in 1995. Ann loved cooking, gardening, reading, listening to Gospel music, and spending time with her family. An avid Philadelphia sports fan, Ann liked to go on vacations.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of forty-eight years, Marvin Allison; sons, Jeffrey Allison and his wife Christine, Aiken; Richard Allison and his fiancé, Vicki Matthews, Warrington, PA; grandchildren, Megan Allison, Kyra Allison, and Jared Allison, Aiken.
