Funeral services for Mr. Cecil Landon Pinkard will be held Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at 2 PM from the graveside in Southlawn Cemetery, Aiken, SC, with Rev. Dr. W.C. Lowe officiating. Pallbearers will be Tommy Brock, Rick and Ricky Burkhalter, Larry Vaughn, Charlie Page, and Rick Price and are asked to assemble at the graveside at 1:30 on Tuesday. The family will receive friends Monday, November 29, 2004 from 6 until 8 PM at George Funeral Homes, Southside Chapel, 3175 Whiskey Rd., Aiken, SC. Mr. Pinkard, 75, of New Ellenton, SC, husband of the late Mrs. Dorothy Yelton Pinkard, died Saturday, afternoon, November 27, 2004 at St. Joseph Hospital, Augusta, GA. Born in Bassett, VA, a son of Dora Turner Pinkard, Hickory, NC and the late Lawrence Landon Pinkard, he had been a resident of New Ellenton, SC, since 1951 where he retired form E.I. DuPont as a Heavy Equipment Operator after thirty-four years of service. He proudly served his country in the United States Army where he earned the rank of Corporal and was a Post Commander as well as, Post State Commander of the V.F.W. Post #5877. Mr. Pinkard as an avid Atlanta Braves fan and also enjoyed fishing. In addition to his mother, sons, Michael Landon Pinkard and his wife, Joan, Aiken, SC and Jeffrey Mark Pinkard and his wife, Wanda, New Ellenton, SC; daughters, Patricia Anne Pinkard, Aiken, SC and Kimberly Pinkard Price and her husband, Ricky, Mars Hill, NC; sister, Dorothy Bradley, Hickory, NC; grandchildren, Bryan Robert and Brandi Renee Bessinger, Joshua Landon and Christopher Michael Pinkard, and Lindsey Anne and Nicole Martin, step-grandchildren, Jeremiah Blue and Shannon Lee Springer, and Alicia Price, great-grandchild, Eliana Michelle Pinkard and step-great grandchild, Abbigail Price, survive. The family has asked that memorials in memory of Mr. Pinkard be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box K, Aiken, SC 29802
