AIKEN,SC- Nancy Gibson Willing, 80 of Aiken, SC and beloved wife of Clyde Willing of 62 years, peacefully passed away on March 5, 2016 in the comfort of her home. She left her earthly home surrounded by her loving family. Nancy was the daughter of the late Harry and Madge Gibson of Aiken, SC. Nancy was born in Seneca, SC and her family moved to Aiken when she was a teenager, where she graduated from Aiken High School. After 25 years of service, Nancy retired from C&S Bank. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Aiken.
Survivors in addition to her husband are her son David Willing, and daughters Lana Willing Lybrand and Sheila (Danny) Auvenshine; six grandchildren Shanon (Kevin) Taylor, Jason (Jenny) Willing, Brian (Jennifer) Lybrand, Melissa (Shawn) Bryan, Chad (Amanda) Auvenshine, and Keila (Dane) Burkhart, and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Nancy's greatest love was her husband. Sweethearts since high school, her love for Clyde remained constant until her last breath. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren and especially her great-grandchildren. Nancy enjoyed camping with her family and friends. She and Clyde have treasured memories of camping for over 40 years at Oconee State Park, where they made many lifelong friends. Everyone that knew Nancy enjoyed her country cooking, her witty jokes, and how she graciously served. She leaves a legacy of love that will live on through her family.
Nancy battled a terrible disease for three years but God has been gracious throughout. Despite Lewy Body Dementia, Nancy always loved having her family around and kept her sense of humor. Both she and her family have been blessed with wonderful caregivers, Inez Sanders and Maggie Tucker, who have been a great comfort and support during this difficult time. Today, we are comforted in knowing she is whole again and in the presence of her Lord and Savior and reunited with loved ones.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, March 8, 2016 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at George Funeral Home downtown Aiken.
