Funeral services for Mr. James Robert Bell, Sr. will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at 11am at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave, SW, Aiken. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association, 1003 Hammond Dr, Aiken, SC 29803. Mr. Bell, 68, of Aiken, died Friday, August 3, 2007 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Born in Windsor, SC, he was the son of the late Oakley James and Ravenal Quattlebaum Bell. He lived in Aiken most of his life. He was a member of the Aiken's First Baptist Church. He retired as a mechanic from Triangle Pontiac. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and the USC Gamecocks. He proudly served his country in the Army while stationed in Germany. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son Robbie Bell, who died July 6, 2007. He is survived by his wife of forty seven years, Diane Donovan Bell, daughter, Donna Kenneth Fisher, Warrenville, son, Gary M. Karen Bell, Aiken, daughter-in-law, DiAnn Bell, Aiken, seven grandsons, two great granddaughters, and two great grandsons.
