A memorial service for Frances W. Rutherford, 81, of Aiken, who died Sunday, August 8, 2004 at Mattie C. Hall Health Center will be held 2PM, Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. David Cozad and Rev. Martha Ebel officiating. Visitation will be tonight from 6-8 at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel. Inurnment will be at Dale Memorial Park, Richmond, VA at a later date. She was the wife of the late Rabun Rutherford. Mrs. Rutherford was born in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Archibald and Grace White. She moved to Aiken in 1952 from Old Hickory, TN. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Aiken. She had a very philanthropic and humanitarian spirit. Mrs. Rutherford is survived by daughters Susan Pappas and husband Frank of Berlin, MD, Becky Fehrenbach and husband Joe of Martinez, GA; sister, Sally W. Autenreith of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren, Bruce, Chip and Jim Marvin, Sean And Scott Perkins, two great grandchildren; Carolyn and Patrick Marvin, and a host of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of choice or First Presbyterian Church, 224 Barnwell St., Aiken, SC 29801.
