Funeral services for Mr. Clyde Gregory Redd will take place on Sunday, February 10, 2008 at 2pm at Woodridge Baptist Church, Clearwater, SC with Rev. Ron Hasty officiating. Interment will follow at Darien Baptist Church Cemetery, Aiken. Visitation will be on Saturday, 6-8pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken. Mr. Redd, 86, a long time resident of North Augusta, died Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at Roper St. Francis Healthcare in Charleston, SC. A son of the late George Washington and Lona Grice Redd, he was a life long resident of Aiken County and a well-known butcher for forty-five years, having worked at Brown's Red & White in Belvedere and then at the former Fairway Foods in Johnston. He was also a mechanic who loved to restore old Volkswagens. He was a member and Deacon at Woodridge Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers; George Redd, W.A. Redd, and Jim Redd, a sister; Gladys Evans and a son; Vernon Redd. He is survived by three daughters; Shelia Redd, Charleston, SC, Theresa R. Sexton, Pacolet, SC and Dawn R. Campbell, Montmorenci, SC, a son; Chris G. Redd, North Augusta, two sisters; Jewel Thomson, Aiken and Pearl Bowen, North Augusta. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; Raven P. Redd, Nikki N. Redd, Tyler G. Redd, A. Kyle Redd, Chasen N. Redd, Dalton C. Campbell, Colby G. Campbell and Jake T. Sexton and 2 great grandchildren; Mya E. Hartman and Kylie M. Hartman. The family ask that memorial contibutions be made to George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave, SW, Aiken, SC, 29801 to help defray the funeral expense.
