Obituary of Rolf K. Aadland

Dr. Rolf K. Aadland, 60, husband of Ute Aadland, died April 29, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at South Aiken Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. John Frye officiating.
Dr. Aadland has been living in Aiken for 13 years after moving from Columbia. He was a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., and the son of the late Konrad and Solveis Aadland. He has been working at the Savannah River Site as a senior scientist of geology for 13 years.
He was a member of the American Geological Society, American Association of Petroleum Geologists, and was a Registered Geologist. In his free time, he enjoyed hiking, camping, running, and walks on the beach with his daughters, and was described as a loving, involved husband, father, brother and friend.
Survivors included his wife; daughters, Kelsey Aadland, Marika Aadland, and Thorya Aadland; brother Arne Aadland, Greensboro, N.C.; nephews, Christopher Aadland, and Derrol Aadland, Greensboro, N.C..
