Funeral services for Mr. George A. Henderson, will be held Saturday December 16, 2006 at 1: P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Windsor, SC with Rev. Jimmy Wingate, Rev. Robert Altan and Rev. David Young officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mr. Johnny Stevens, Mr. Gabriel Kitchens, Mr. Frank Mizell, Mr. Henry Woodward, Mr. James Hilton and Mr. Billy Quarles. Visitation will be from 6:P.M. until 8:P.M. Friday evening at the George Funeral Home & Cremation Center 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken , and Mr. Henderson will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 12:P.M. until service time at 1:P.M.
Mr. Henderson, 61 of Windsor, died Tuesday at the Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
A son of the late George Albert Henderson, and the late Ida May Brown Henderson, he was born in Oak Ridge Tennessee and moved to the Windsor area when he was three years old. He worked for the County of Aiken as a foreman for roads and bridges. He was an avid lover of Bass fishing, Golfing and most of all his church, where he had served as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher, and head usher. He was a faithful church member.
Mr. Henderson is survived by his loving wife Gayle Jackson Henderson, Windsor, a son James Collier of Georgia, a sister Kathy Salley, Martinez, GA, three step sons Paul Anderson, Evans , GA, Charlie Anderson, Washington, GA., Bill Anderson, Washington, GA. four grandchildren nine step-grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren
