Funeral Services for Ms. Ruth Ridgeway Shafer will take place on Saturday, May 20, 2006 at 3pm at South Aiken Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday evening from 7-9pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken. Memorial donations may be made to the Jefrey Shafer Educational Trust Fund, 957 Wilds Ave, Aiken, SC, 29803. Ms. Shafer, 54, of West Columbia, died Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at Lexington Medical Center, West Columbia. The only daughter of the late Philip B., Sr. and Ruth Bodie Ridgeway, she was born in Washington, DC and had lived in Allentown, PA before moving to the Columbia area twenty three years ago. For the past nineteen years, Ruth has been a secretary with the SC Trial Lawyers Association. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her husband, Jefrey J. Shafer. Ms. Shafer is survived by her two sons; Mark Douglas Shafer and Michael David Shafer, a brother; Philip ?Brooke? Ridgeway, Jr., Aiken, a grandson; Jefrey Shafer and a special friend, Don Cooper, West Columbia.
