Obituary of Hugh Donovan Kelley

Hugh D. Kelley passed away August 18th at the age of 85. He was born March 1, 1924 to Rollie C. and Lola B. Kelley in Olivet, Kansas. Upon graduating from Olivet High School he attended Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas. On November 21, 1945 he was married to Berneice Wise.
Hugh worked at the United Iron Works at Pittsburg as chief draftsman before moving in 1950 to Enterprise, Kansas, joining the J.B. Ehrsam Mfg. Co. He held Supervisory positions in almost every aspect of plant management with Ehrsam Co. for nearly 25 years, including Chief Engineer. Hugh was instrumental in developing products from concept to saleable stage obtaining 11 US Patents.
In 1975 he left the Ehrsam Co. Division of Combustion Engineering and became manager for Tramco Metal Products in Wichita, Kansas.
The year 1980 the Kelley's moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas where Hugh enjoyed golf, fishing and later became a avid Nascar fan. While in Bella Vista, Hugh became a consultant to Huss-Schleiper of Decatur, Illinois and the Hutchinson Division of Clay Center, Kansas.
He is survived by his wife Berneice of 63 years, two daughters, Nancy Forrester Lynn, Jean Yevchak of Bentonville, AR, and 4 grandchildren, Shelby Taylor of Aiken, Jeff Forrester of Charlotte, NC, Kevin Taylor of Pea Ridge, AR and Sara Asplund of Rogers, AR., and 5 great grandchildren.
Hugh was a member of the Methodist Church. He was cremated and private services with family members will be held at a later date. George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave. SW is assisting the family.
