Private, graveside services for Mrs. Ruth Glenn Hitchcock Badger will take place at the family cemetery in Cedar Crossing, GA. Mrs. Badger, 88, of Aiken, died Sunday, January 31, 2009 at Pepper Hill Nursing Center after a long illness. George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken is assisting the family. Memorial donations may be directed to the Alzheimer's Research & Clinical Program at MUSC, 5900 Core Rd., Suite 203 North Charleston, SC 29406.
A daughter of the late Frank Hitchcock and Ada Ward Hitchcock, she was born in Cedar Crossing, GA and had lived in St. Augustine, FL before moving to Aiken in 1975.
While in Florida, she had been a dietician at Flagler Hospital She had also worked at the McCrory's store in St. Augustine. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hastings, FL and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Roy Badger, who died in 1990.
She is survived by a son; James Badger, North Augusta and a daughter; Linda McFadden, Beech Island and a sister; Frances Carter, St. Augustine, FL. She s also survived by four grandchildren and three great grandchildren with a fourth on the way.
