Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Bodie Griffin will be held Wednesday, March 10, 2004 at 1 PM at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC, with Pastor Gladys Capers officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery, Aiken, SC. Pallbearers will be Roger Gray, Billy Gray, Wayne Anderson, Charlie Anderson, Charles Jordan, Kenny Woodyard, James Anderson, Ray Cleveland, and Chris Cleveland. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 9, 2004 from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Griffin, 70, of Windsor, SC, wife of the late L.D. Griffin, died Sunday, evening, March 7, 2004 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Born in Milledgeville, GA, a daughter of the late Clarence and Dora Rosier Bodie, she had been a resident of Aiken, SC, for most her life prior to relocating to Windsor, SC, in 1993. She was a former clerical clerk, having retired from the S.C. Department of Vocational Rehabilitation Services and was a member of the Wagener Pentecostal Holiness Church. Daughters, Debra Anderson, Wagener, SC, Viola Cleveland and Susan Carr, both of Aiken, SC; sister, Joan Holden, Windsor, SC; thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, survive. A daughter, Peggy Benton, preceded her in death. At the request of the family, please make memorials to Wagener Pentecostal Holiness Church, c/o Pastor Gladys Capers, 16757 Highway 278, Williston, SC 29813.
